Assistant Professor Positions (Tenure Track)

Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences (http://www.pharmacy.umaryland.edu/about/depts/psc/) is conducting an open search for qualified candidates for several tenure track faculty positions at the level of assistant professor. Candidates with research interests in modern biological sciences with strong potential applications in drug discovery, design and development are encouraged to apply.

The Pharmaceutical Sciences Department is a highly integrative and collaborative department housed within the School of Pharmacy at the University of Maryland Baltimore (the State of Maryland’s Health Sciences University). Faculty within the school have a broad range of research interests that span chemical and biological discovery to experimental and translational therapeutics. Faculty have access to state-of-the art centers including Bio- and Nano- Technology,  Mass Spectrometry,  Computer Aided Drug Design and a Center for Excellence in Regulatory Sciences within the department. In addition, collaborations with the Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology Research (IBBR), the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST), and the Food and Drug Administration, provide a dynamic environment for cutting-edge research and discovery. 

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in an appropriate discipline, postdoctoral experience, and a strong record of research accomplishments.  Successful applicants are expected to develop or have an independent, externally funded research program, to contribute to teaching at the professional and graduate levels, and to engage in service activities with the School.
