St. Mary's College of Maryland is a public liberal arts undergraduate college on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. The student population is less than 2,000. The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry consists of eight tenured or tenure track professors. The department annually awards approximately 20 biochemistry and 10 ACS certified chemistry degrees. Excellence in teaching and mentored undergraduate research are hallmarks of the department.
