Fort Lewis College

Fort Lewis College (FLC) is a state-supported liberal arts college with its own governing board and is a member of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges (COPLAC). The Chemistry Department has laboratories and a lecture hall in a modern new facility and is housed within the School of Natural and Behavioral Sciences. Total enrollment at the College is about 4,000 students with 40% multicultural population. FLC is well known regionally for its outdoor recreation opportunities, premier field schools in archaeology and geology, and its research based chemistry program. The community of Durango, Colorado, is located in the foothills of the San Juan Mountains of Southwestern Colorado in the culturally rich and geographically diverse Four Corners region.
