Biological Mass Spectrometrist
John L. Holmes Mass Spectrometry Facility (www.jlhms.uottawa.ca), a core facility in the Faculty of Science at the University of Ottawa is seeking for a Biological Mass Spectrometrist experienced in biological mass spectrometry and proteomics.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Mass Spectrometrist will work in on a Thermo LC-Orbitrap Fusion with ETD, a MALDI/LC-Orbitrap Q Exactive Plus and a Waters Synapt G2 TOF coupled with a Beckman CE. He/she will prepare samples and perform MS experiments for proteomics, metabolomics and MS imaging; conduct comprehensive data analysis; maintain the instruments;
REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate should have a graduate degree (MSc or PhD) in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or related fields and at least 4 years experience in biological mass spectrometry.
TERMS, SALARY AND BENEFITS: This is a full-time position, starting immediately or upon mutual agreement. Employment will be based on a one-year renewable contract. The salary range is from $59,000 to $67,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Only Canadians and permanent residents may apply.
