Assistant Professor, Analytical/Physical/Environmental Chemistry
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, ANALYTICAL/PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL CHEMISTRY. The University of Portland invites applicants for a tenure-track position to commence August 15, 2018. Primary teaching responsibilities will consist of three courses per semester. Topics include general chemistry and at least one of the following sub-disciplines: analytical, physical, or environmental chemistry. Establishing an original, productive research program in the successful applicant’s area of expertise with active involvement of undergraduate students is required. The successful applicant is expected to be collegial and have the potential for eventual service and leadership within the department and university. A Ph.D. in chemistry or closely related field is required; a post-doctoral fellowship in the applicant’s area of expertise and teaching experience at an undergraduate level are strongly preferred.
