The Research Scientist is responsible for developing new methods and improving existing processes for the Aegis Laboratories.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop improved analytical methods for a variety of instrumentation including the following:
    • Triple TOF
    • GC-MS/MS
    • LC-MS/MS
    • Other new technologies as required
  • Continued development of:
    • Small molecule method development 
    • Analytical Methods with Clinical Applications 
  • Discuss research results with technical staff
  • Act as a “consultant” on method problems
  • Assist in obtaining various laboratory certifications
  • Perform quality control review and troubleshooting as necessary
  • Assist with documentation of cost/test of new methods developed and determine overall methods/department costs with Purchasing Agent/Controller/Operations Improvement Manager
  • Aid in the training of staff on instrumentation use, methods application and analytical chemistry fundamentals
  • Help in the development of maintenance programs for instruments and train staff on updated methods
  • Assist laboratory leadership in new method development and troubleshooting of production methods as needed

  Successful Candidates Must Possess:

  • A Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical, Analytical Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or Toxicology Sciences required
  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in analytical method development utilizing GC/MS, LC/MS/MS instrumentation required
  • Experience in forensic analysis desired
