ASSISTANT PROFESSOR in COMPUTATIONAL CHEMISTRY
The Department of Chemistry at the University of Florida (www.chem.ufl.edu) has a new opening for a nine-month, tenure-track appointment at the level of ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, in the general area of Computational or Theoretical Chemistry, broadly defined, to start in the Fall of 2018. The successful applicant will be well supported with start-up resources and lab space. There are currently over 40 faculty in the Department with internationally recognized expertise in computational and theoretical chemistry, biochemistry, biophysical chemistry, synthetic organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry and analytical chemistry. The department is also home to the interdisciplinary Quantum Theory Project and the Butler Polymer Research Center and has recently opened the Joseph Hernandez Hall, which is home to state of the art teaching and research space.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and includes a full benefits package.
Candidates must have earned a PhD in computational or theoretical chemistry, or a related discipline. Post-doctoral training is preferred. Candidates must be prepared to establish their own independent, extramurally funded research program and maintain a strong commitment to scholarship and teaching.
