Research Associate/Scientist, Synthetic Organic and Process Chemistry

Intra-Cellular Therapies, Inc. (ITI) is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company seeking highly motivated individuals in the New York City area.  Positions are available in Synthetic Organic Chemistry and Process Chemistry.  Candidates should possess a minimum of a BA/BS degree with 2 years of experience in synthetic organic chemistry, process chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or related disciplines.  Experience in multiple-step organic synthesis, process development, scaling-up synthesis of lead or reference compounds, and safe handling of chemicals and waste following regulations is essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.  Other skills, including HPLC, NMR, LC-MS, column chromatography, data analysis and compound characterization, are highly desirable.  Knowledge of heterocyclic chemistry and chemical database searching is desirable.  Ability to use computers with standard software, including ChemDraw, Microsoft Office, is a pre-requisite.  Exceptional recordkeeping skills are essential.
