The R&D Technician will provide technical support of materials, new product development and manufacturing process development. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting R&D and it business partner teams with materials, process and color issues, evaluating new materials, colors, processes and equipment, improving current and new products through process/formulation/materials changes, evaluating competitive products to establish a benchmark, and help establish techniques and processes to track incoming raw materials through testing and evaluation.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Associate’s Degree in Polymer Science, Materials, Plastics, Chemical Engineering or
    Engineering Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One to three years of experience in a similar position
  • Strong computer skills to include: Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Thorough knowledge of general lab testing and measuring equipment (scales, density, beakers, etc.)
  • Excellent problem solving abilities and mathematical aptitude
  • Success in planning, executing and managing projects
  • Precise and articulate written and oral communication with the ability to speak clearly and persuasively in individual and group presentations
