Opportunity: The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Kent State University Kent Campus seeks to fill two tenure track or tenured faculty positions in Chemistry and Biochemistry. Exceptional candidates from all areas of chemistry and biochemistry are encouraged to apply. Current departmental needs exist primarily in analytical and experimental physical chemistry and physical biochemistry. The successful applicants are expected to establish highly productive extramurally funded research programs, engage in collaborative research, direct theses and dissertations, and exhibit a commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry or a related field and, for tenure track applicants, post-doctoral experience. Candidates at the associate and full professor levels would be expected to have a history of sustained extramural funding. Salary and startup funds are competitive and commensurate with academic qualifications and prior experience.

In recent years Kent State University has made major investments in campus infrastructure including a substantial renovation of the Chemistry and Biochemistry building and the opening of a new Integrated Science Building. This 66,000 sq. ft., building houses classrooms, instructional labs, research lab space and faculty offices for the departments of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Biological Sciences and Physics.
