Tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in Materials Science and NanoEngineering
The Department of Materials Science and NanoEngineering in the George R. Brown School of Engineering at Rice University, located in Houston, Texas, invites applications for a tenure-track position in materials science at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, with an expected start date of July 1, 2018.
We seek an individual who has demonstrated excellence in one (preferably both) of the following areas in materials science: (1) Functional ceramic/electronic materials including synthesis, device fabrication and materials physics of these systems (2) Advanced structural characterization techniques with emphasis on electron microscopy related techniques. Preference will be given to the overall originality and promise of the candidate’s work rather than to the sub-area of research. A successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in a closely related discipline with some post-PhD research and teaching experience.
Applicants are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses. Successful applicants must also have a strong commitment to, and potential for excellence in, teaching, research, and service.
