The Chemistry Department at Western Oregon University invites applicants for a tenure-track position in Physical Chemistry. This is a full-time, 9-month position with summer session employment opportunities available, if desired.  Candidates with a background in nuclear chemistry and inorganic chemistry are encouraged to apply. Primary teaching responsibilities include courses in physical chemistry, inorganic and general chemistry along with other program supportive offerings. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a research program involving undergraduates.


  • Ph.D in Physical Chemistry, or a closely related field. ABD will be considered, but the position requires completion of all doctoral requirements by September 17, 2018.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one (1) academic year of postdoctoral research
  • At least one (1) full-time academic year of college/university level teaching which may include online teaching
  • Ability to use technologies for teaching and learning
