The Maryland Institute for Applied Environmental Health within the University of Maryland, School of Public Health is seeking a highly motivated individual for the grants and contracts funded post of Postdoctoral Fellow. This individual will join the Exposome Small Molecule Core Facility and be funded through A Center of Excellence at the Nexus of Sustainable Water Reuse, Food and Health (CONSERVE).

The successful candidate will work within our newly funded Center of Excellence, CONSERVE, in the laboratory of Dr. Amir Sapkota. S/he will play a central role in the development of analytical methods, QA/QC process, as well as analysis of environmental and biological samples using Mass Spectrometry based methods. In addition, there will be an ample opportunity to collaborate with faculties from the School of Public Health and College of Agriculture & Natural Resources. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to hone their leadership and grant-writing skills by developing and directing pilot studies leveraging off of the work of CONSERVE and using the data generated in this work to develop manuscripts and grant proposals.

Applicants must possess a PhD in Environmental Health or related field. In addition to the degree, applicants should have at least two years of laboratory experience (at the pre-doctoral level) in an analytical laboratory, demonstrated experience with mass spectrometry, excellent organizational and communication skills (oral and written), and enthusiasm for multidisciplinary collaborations.

The ideal candidate will have a combination of analytical and quantitative background with knowledge in exposure assessment, basic statistical analysis and prior experience working with liquid chromatograph tandem mass spectrometers (LC-MS/MS).
