Director, Internal and External Scientific Relationships, Princeton Catalysis Initiative
The Department of Chemistry seeks a Director (to be appointed at the Professional Specialist rank), Internal and External Scientific Relationships, for the Princeton Catalysis Initiative, a new interdisciplinary research initiative designed to advance catalysis to broadly impact society and chemical innovation. The director will develop and establish relationships with both internal and external innovators to pursue scientific excellence within the Initiative. The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field, and preferably 10+ years of additional research experience in catalysis in the pharma, fine chemical or energy fields.
The successful candidate should have a proven track record of success in the catalysis field as judged by high impact peer-reviewed publications and invited international presentations. He or she will have an enhanced network of academic and industrial contacts, and will demonstrate effective research collaboration at the chemistry interface with physics, biology, computer science and/or engineering. The successful candidate should have extensive experience in establishing executive level corporate relationships, and will have a demonstrated track record of relationships with principal investigators and development offices in the top 10% of research ranked US universities. He or she will have interactions with national and international government or non-profit granting agencies. Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally.
