Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Center Director

The University Of Kentucky College Of Pharmacy is a world-class research environment seeking a NMR Center Director. The Director will be responsible for the operation and routine maintenance of several NMR instrumentations (e.g., instrument fills, monitoring, operating, and calibrating instruments) as well as the recruitment, training, and application support of core clients. The director will train all users to ensure compliance with safety regulations and assist individual users in NMR experiment planning, data collection and analysis, pulse-sequence implementation/modification, as well as evaluation/interpretation of data. He/she will manage user accounts and records, provide quarterly reports on usage for billing, identify funding opportunities for upgrades and acquisition of new instruments and assist with proposals preparation, maintain computers and software, maintain a set of basic experiments for user collection of routine spectra, maintain the reservation system, and manage NMR use.

Minimum requirements are a PhD, or an equivalent number of years of education and experience. PhD in Chemistry (physical, organic, analytical, or pharmaceutical) or Biochemistry is preferred, although other degrees may be considered, with significant and direct experience with NMR spectroscopy essential. Postdoctoral experience in advanced NMR desirable, and evidence of NMR productivity as reflected in a significant publication record.
