Two Visiting Assistant Professor Positions in Chemistry (Physical/Environmental & Organic)
The Chemistry Department at Bowdoin College invites applications for two visiting assistant professor positions (both one-year sabbatical replacements) in the areas of (i) physical and environmental chemistry; and (ii) organic chemistry. Appointment begins July 2018. Teaching load is two courses per semester. For the physical/environmental chemistry position, the successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to teach general chemistry, the physical chemistry course focused on thermodynamics and kinetics, and the environmental chemistry component of an interdisciplinary environmental science course. For the organic chemistry position, the successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to teach the two-semester organic chemistry sequence. In addition, both candidates will be expected to contribute as necessary to laboratory instruction and courses for non-science majors or advanced chemistry courses. A Ph.D. is preferred; ABD considered.
