The Department of Chemistry and Physics at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor in Chemistry beginning August 1, 2018. Candidates should hold either a doctorate in inorganic chemistry or chemical education. ABD candidates will be considered; though teaching and postdoctoral experience are strongly preferred. Teaching responsibilities will include survey inorganic, advanced inorganic, a contribution to the general chemistry sequence, and other courses in the area of expertise. The successful applicant will be expected to establish a productive undergraduate research program in an area of inorganic (or related) chemistry, and will be expected to share in the maintenance of research instrumentation. The chemistry program at UTC (Chattanooga, Tennessee) comprises eleven tenure-line faculty members and is approved by the American Chemical Society.
