Professor & Associate Dean, Research – Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences
The University of British Columbia (UBC) invites applications and nominations for the position of Professor (with tenure) and Associate Dean Research (initial term of five years, renewable) in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Rapidly growing, it is now home to 72 full-time and cross-appointed academic faculty members, over 600 clinical faculty, 900 undergraduate students, and 60 graduate students.
The Faculty’s new strategic plan Catalyst for Change (http://stories.pharmsci.ubc.ca/catalyst-for-change-strategic-plan) sets out an ambitious agenda designed to take the Faculty to the next level. Building on our excellent research base is a key element of the strategy and UBC is now seeking a new Associate Dean Research to lead the Faculty in realizing its vision for excellence and impact in research. In support of this, the Faculty will be investing in a significant number of new research faculty hires in the near future, and the Associate Dean will be expected to play a key role in the recruitment and mentoring of these faculty.
The successful candidate will have an exemplary record as a researcher in one of the Faculty’s areas of research focus (https://pharmsci.ubc.ca/research/research-themes) and be eligible to be appointed as a tenured Professor at UBC. The Associate Dean will bring demonstrated leadership experience within a well-respected university or related research organization, the capacity and vision to build on the momentum that the Faculty has achieved in recent years, and will demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills. The Associate Dean will take a key leadership role in the Faculty as a member of the Senior Management Team.
