The initial appointment will be for one year, with expectation for renewal. The position is subject to availability of funds. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

The laboratories of Profs. Perry and Schiffman focus on advanced polymer science, colloid and materials engineering. This specific project involves developing a novel method to regulate uptake and enhance encapsulation and/or delivery of model compounds from polymer-based delivery systems. The project also involves developing new materials, characterizing polymers, measuring release and adhesive performance, correlating properties with polymer structure and reporting results to sponsors and faculty. The position requires mentoring of junior researchers, manuscript and patent preparation and submission of proposals for further work. The laboratories are located across three buildings with state-of-the-art facilities. More information is available at and

Applicants must have a PhD in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or related engineering disciplines.
