S2S Lead (Multiple Positions)
S2S Lead (Multiple Positions) (Kennecott Utah Copper, LLC; Bingham Canyon, UT): Identify opportunities to maximize value in production plant operations, including (but not limited to) opportunities to improve future metallurgical performance and reduce costs. Provide guidance and leadership relating to the application and rigor of root cause analysis techniques to performance issues. Set up plans to ensure optimal long-term operational performance, addressing any identified performance gaps, risks or opportunities relative to key value drivers (throughput, recovery, and quality). Assess and review process design and process flow-sheets. Review risks, required optimization, and/or contingency actions in a timely manner to accelerate operational readiness. Coordinate the evaluation of grinding and flotation technology to improve concentrate grade and recovery, or to reduce costs. Support and identify technological advancements and drive continued improvement for the value stream. Develop concise business cases, capital expenditure justifications and project justifications. Identify, organize and facilitate root cause analysis sessions to address risk analysis and bottleneck analysis with cross-functional teams, (including mine, smelter, asset management, operations, and reliability groups) in support of safely meeting and exceeding production goals. Support the mine and concentrator employees (including operators, supervisors, superintendents, and managers) to ensure plant performance issues with regard to throughput, recoveries, and product quality (copper and moly con) are identified, and improvement plans implemented. Support all health and safety initiatives and programs, and ensure that the highest standard of safety performance is maintained, in compliance with all regulatory requirements, and Kennecott Utah Copper Corporation Safety and Health Standards and Management Systems. 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.)
Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, followed by 7 years of post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience in the mining industry. Of the experience required, must have 7 years of experience with the following: Mining and mineral processing; SAG, Ball Mill grind circuits and flotation; Health and safety standards relating to the mining industry; Conducting industry technical and business presentations; Statistical data analysis; Project management and implementation; Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and MSProject; Project Management software, including Clarity; Metallurgical accounting systems; Process modeling applications, including JKSimFloat, JKSimMet, or Algosys; and Principles and methods used in metallurgical and processing analysis, including grinding, flotation, and control systems.
