Tenure-track faculty position in Bioinorganic Chemistry
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) is seeking applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in Bioinorganic Chemistry. The Department seeks an individual with a strong commitment to research and teaching. To complement the current strengths of the department in both biochemistry and inorganic chemistry, preference will be given to applicants with primary interests in biomineralization, or to those having a strong background in synthesis and characterization of novel metal-containing biomimetic models. Candidates whose research explores medicinal applications of bioinorganic chemistry, and who would thus also complement work currently being carried out in UWM’s Milwaukee Institute of Drug Design (uwm.edu/drug-discovery/), are especially encouraged to apply.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field, and solid post-Ph.D. research experience (this could be a traditional post-doctoral or similar position). Position responsibilities will include developing an independent extramurally funded research program, and teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in the areas of inorganic, bioinorganic, and general chemistry. Review of applications will begin on October 22, 2018. While review will continue until the position is filled, priority will be given to applications received by October 21, 2018. A complete application will consist of a cover letter, curriculum vitae, concise statements of research and teaching interests, and three letters of recommendation. Please visit http://jobs.uwm.edu/postings/27836 for more details and to apply; UWM will not consider paper, e-mailed, or faxed applications.
