Slippery Rock University invites applications for a tenure-track forensic chemist position (101109) at the level of Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry beginning in August 2019. Undergraduate teaching responsibilities include forensic chemistry, chemistry major courses, and non-major chemistry courses included in the Liberal Studies Program. The successful candidate is expected to participate in the continued development and expansion of the forensic chemistry program. The position also requires establishing a productive research program in the candidate’s area of expertise that can involve SRU undergraduates, and serving on department/college/university academic committees.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or A.B.D in Forensic Chemistry or closely related sub-discipline of the chemical sciences, Ph.D. must be completed by time of hire. Evidence of professional competence, the ability to work productively with students and colleagues, and excellent oral and written communication skills. The commitment to the education of diverse populations and the successful performance in an on-campus interview, including two presentations, teaching and research, are required.
