East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania  invites applications for a full-time, tenure track position in Inorganic Chemistry, beginning in August of 2019.

Primary responsibilities will be the teaching of General Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry lecture and laboratory courses, but may also include teaching courses for non-majors as well as other advanced courses within the ACS approved major. The teaching load is 12 hours/semester. The successful candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring a diverse population of undergraduate students. It is expected that the candidate will develop a research program that is suitable for undergraduate-level involvement and active participation. Faculty at ESU are also expected to serve the university and the greater professional community by participation in activities to include, but not limited to: committee memberships, curriculum development and outreach.

Required Qualifications: Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry at the time of appointment. 

Preferred Qualifications: All areas of specialty within the scope of Inorganic Chemistry will be considered. Previous experience teaching inorganic and/or general chemistry is preferred. A strong publication record in the area is desirable, as is experience in obtaining research grant funding. Experience (or demonstrated interest) in departmental curriculum and course development is desirable. The successful candidate will be a skillful educator who demonstrates the ability to apply the necessary skillset (including classroom technologies), flexibility and dedication to successfully teach courses at a broad range of level, class-sizes, with students of diverse backgrounds, preparation and professional goals.
