Trinity College

Chemistry Lecturer

The Department of Chemistry at Trinity College invites applications for a full-time lecturer to join our vibrant and diverse faculty and students in the fall term of 2019. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Chemistry and possess the ability to teach introductory, organic, and inorganic chemistry courses.  The initial appointment for this position is two years, with the possibility for renewal.  The successful candidate will be part of a team that collaborates in teaching the lecture and laboratory courses in introductory and organic chemistry.  We use a guided-inquiry approach where the contribution of each student’s laboratory data plays a central role in how all students learn. Besides these courses the successful candidate will occasionally teach one of our inorganic chemistry courses.

Trinity is a liberal arts college located in Connecticut’s capital city of Hartford. Our student body, in the College and in Chemistry, is diverse, representing 41 states and 70 countries with 21% students of color and 50% women. Trinity College is committed to building a representative and diverse faculty, staff, and student body.  We place high value on an environment that offers equal opportunity in the workplace and encourages mutual respect, interaction, and engagement.  We encourage applicants from diverse cultures, backgrounds and ethnicities reflective of our student body.  Applicants with disabilities should request, in advance, any needed accommodation in order to participate in the application process.

Applications will be reviewed as they are received, with full consideration given to those received by March 15, 2019. Questions about the position can be addressed to Prof. Timothy Curran via email (timothy.curran@trincoll.edu).

A complete application should include a CV, a 1-2 page statement on teaching philosophy and goals, official transcripts and three letters of recommendation. For more information and to apply please visit https://trincoll.peopleadmin.com
