Job Details
The Furche research group in the Department of Chemistry, University of California, Irvine, is inviting applications for a postdoctoral position in the area of Theoretical and Computational Chemistry. The successful candidate will work on electronic structure theory, computational methods, and their applications to chemistry.
Applications are being sought from recent Ph.D. graduates with backgrounds in theoretical and computational chemistry and related fields. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Prior experience in theoretical and computational method development is essential. Of particular relevance are (i) experience in quantum mechanics of many-particle systems and time-dependent processes, (ii) demonstrated expertise in numerical approximation methods, and (iii) experience in collaborative code development. The successful candidate is also expected to have a strong scientific publication record, excellent oral and written communication ability, and provide evidence of independence and leadership in his/her professional and personal history.
