Research Scientist - Proteomics Mass Spectrometry

The University of Oklahoma is hiring a Research Scientist to support proteomics analysis in the university core mass spectrometry facility that is housed in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. The candidate must hold a PhD in a proteomics related field (e.g., chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology) and have extensive experience in high-resolution mass spectrometry, preferably with expertise using nano-LC-Orbitrap FTMS. Primary responsibilities include all steps for sample preparation (e.g., protein extraction, fractionation and digestion, peptide clean-up), sample running, and data analysis including on intact proteins (e.g. use of Proteome Discoverer, Scaffold, Skyline). This hire will assist proteomics investigators through a combination of sample service, collaborative work, and training of students or postdoctorals in needed techniques. Secondary responsibilities include assisting the MS Facility Director with other types of mass spectrometry (including a Waters SYNAPT G2Si Ion Mobility Q-TOF, an Agilent 6545 High Resolution Q-TOF, and a Perkin Elmer NexION 2000 Inductively Coupled Plasma-MS) and 3 HPLC/nanoHPLC systems.
