Job Description
Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Chemistry

Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate courses in organic chemistry, instrumental analysis, and possibly biochemistry. Teach freshman chemistry courses to both science and non-science majors and other courses depending upon the expertise of the applicant and departmental needs. Applicant should have a strong commitment to undergraduate education. Research and scholarly activity and committee work and service are expected, as well as a commitment to engage undergraduate and graduate students in research.

Additional Salary Information: Salary commensurate with education and experience.

Requirements

Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry or Biochemistry from an accredited institution is required. ABD with a definite completion date will be considered. Candidates with experience teaching organic chemistry and post-doctoral work preferred. Experience incorporating technology in their teaching and interdisciplinary work preferred. Interest and/or background in forensic science are also preferred. Successful candidate must demonstrate exceptional competence in teaching and have strong communication skills.
