Job Description

A postdoctoral position is available in the Institute for Interfacial Catalysis at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) to conduct fundamental studies of the surface chemical and photochemical reactions on thin film and single crystal titanium dioxide surfaces. These investigations will utilize a variety of surface science techniques, but primarily temperature programmed desorption and electron energy loss spectroscopies. Good oral and written communication skills are mandatory. Other duties will include publication of results in peer-reviewed journals, presentation of results at scientific meetings, and routine maintenance of ultrahigh vacuum equipment.

Requirements

Candidates must have received a PhD in Physical Chemistry or related field within the past five years from an accredited college or university. All staff at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory must be able to demonstrate the legal right to work in the United States.

-Experience with UHV surface science

-Published work involving surface studies on single crystals

-Experience with state-of-the-art ultra-high vacuum equipment
