Job Description

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, located in Memphis, Tennessee, is a premier center for research and treatment of potentially fatal childhood diseases, including cancer and certain blood, genetic, and immunodeficiency disorders. The hospital's mission is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Currently, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital has an opening for a Macromolecular Analyst II (Job Number 16457).

The Hartwell Center is a unique integration of high-throughput biotechnology and bioinformatics resources designed to provide St. Jude with state-of-the-art tools for biomedical discovery. These tools include high-throughput DNA sequence analysis, microarray analysis, proteomics, mass spectrometry, macromolecular synthesis, molecular interaction analysis and other methodologies. The Hartwell Center supports more than 100 laboratories and generates thousands of synthetic macromolecules per year for research studies. The Macromolecular Analyst II in the Hartwell Center operates and maintains instrumentation according to standard operating procedure for peptide or oligonucleotide synthesis and purification according to approved procedures.


Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's of science (BS) or a Bachelor's of Arts (BA) and 3 years of experience in a laboratory environment OR a Master's of science (MS) or a Master's of Arts (MA) and 2 years of experience in a laboratory environment.

Preferred skills:

  • Experience with the operation of instrumentation for peptide and oligonucleotide synthesis is desired.
  • Familiarity with oligo purification and quality control according established SOPs is preferred.
