Job Summary: Saginaw Valley State University invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in the Chemistry Department. Applicants will be expected to teach organic chemistry as well as lower division courses. We especially welcome those whose research interests complement those of the current faculty.
The ACS approved Chemistry Department is fully equipped and is housed in a new 106,000 sq. ft. Science Complex (for additional details see http://www.svsu.edu/acadprog/set/index.html ).
While emphasis is placed on teaching, the successful candidate should anticipate developing an active undergraduate research program.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. required
The successful applicant will also be expected to teach at the freshman level in courses for both chemistry majors and non-majors.
Preferred Qualifications: Post doctoral and/or teaching experience is desirable. A background in medicinal chemistry is preferred.
