Job Description
The Chemical Engineer for the DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers business unit will provide process and environmental engineering support to the Ethylene Copolymers Facility at Victoria, Texas.

The specific responsibilities include:

Provide assistance in day to day production operations and trouble shooting. Participate as a member of the technical organization to provide process ATO as unit needs dictate. Lead or serve on small capital projects Translate development and marketing needs into workable manufacturing processes (Test Authorizations and Manufacturing Work Request). Participate on Process Hazards Analysis teams. Participate on area manufacturing and area functional teams. This position will also serve as the technical resource for unit environmental issues. Utilize and/or develop expertise in environmental regulations to lead area programs/projects. Participate as a member of SBU/Platform/Corporate teams as needed to help drive environmental programs.

Performs advanced engineering assignments (production, maintenance, process, capital projects) involving the application of established engineering principles and often requiring coordination with other specialties to provide economical and expedient solutions to identified problems. Provides tactical level process engineering consulting in support of top-line growth and asset effectiveness improvement programs in one or more specialties. Works in engineering consulting teams, with customers in research and development, operations, projects, Marketing and other functions. While still receiving guidance from experienced engineering consultants and direct supervisors, the individual is expected to have a sound knowledge of assigned technologies and the ability to apply engineering principles and advanced analytical/modeling tools to detailed problem analysis in recommending innovative and cost-effective solutions to sites or project teams.

Requirements
Minimum BS in Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience.

5+ years experience process engineering within a manufacturing/industrial environment.

2+ years experience in an environmental role in the chemical industry is preferred.

Demonstrate ability to manage and lead both strategic long-term programs/projects as well as address short-term operational issues.

Strong written and oral communications skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills to allow productive collaborative relationships with varying levels of organization from operators to management.

Working knowledge of basic chemical unit operations.

Strong attention to detail, ability to manage data with a high degree of accuracy.

Ability to read and interpret federal and state environmental regulations, and understand their potential effect on the site.

Working knowledge of PSM systems and High Hazard Processes.

Exposure to Six Sigma processes with a Green Belt or Black Belt certification is considered a plus.

Working knowledge of Corporate Standards.

Ability to develop creative solutions to a variety of process issues
