ROLE DESCRIPTION

This ingredient developer will serve as a Senior Research Scientist and key technology leader in the ICD Wellness Product Development Group. The team is currently composed of a diverse group of experienced scientists with skills in nutrition, chemistry, enzymology, food science & engineering.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

This Senior Research Scientist will be engaged in planning and executing laboratory work to design ingredients, supervision of scientists and technicians, and planning project resources. The Senior Research Scientist will also be expected to engage with internal and external resources to advance technical product development through scale-up activities and to provide technical expertise to support existing business in relevant areas.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate will have a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry, a strong desire to apply their expertise toward developing food ingredients that deliver health benefits and 3-5 years of industrial experience.

A background in ingredient design for foods is desirable. Deep experience in biochemistry and medicinal chemistry is required.  Experience in any of the areas of ingredient design from the following list is desirable: enzyme modification of ingredients, physical processing of ingredients (spray drying, drum drying agglomeration, blending etc), natural products extraction, separations technology as applied to product design, fermentation to produce ingredients, or formulation of complex ingredient systems.
