The Dayton Regional STEM School seeks a highly motivated and effective engineering and science teacher to join an existing school faculty and staff for the 2016-2017 school year. This position will involve the instruction of students in grades 9th through 12th. The curriculum will include collaboratively designed project-based learning units that connect to multiple disciplines and/or real-life issues.
Bachelor's degree completed by August 1, 2016; Current 7-12 science teacher certification/licensure completed by August 1, 2016 OR relevant experience.
Prior experience working on a team; Experience working with diverse student groups; Experience with Project-based learning; Engineering background or completion of coursework in engineering.
Essential Functions and percent of time::
Developing, planning, and teaching lessons – 80%
Assess students progress toward learning targets using a variety of creative methods – 5%
Collaborate with other faculty – 5%
Conference with students, parents and colleagues regularly – 5%
Attend scheduled grade level, department and faculty meetings as scheduled – 5%
Length of contract is one year contingent upon funding.
