Job Description Summary:
Through a partnership between the Madrid Education Ministry and Roosevelt University College of Education, 25 teachers from Spain will participate in a language learning/science summer program from July 4 – 15, 2016 in Madrid, Spain. Participants teach Biology, Geology, Physics, Chemistry, and Technology in English at middle and high schools around Madrid.
The objectives of the summer program are: (1) to improve their teaching of Biology and Geology, Physics and Chemistry, and Technology in English; (2) to acquire and be able to apply the concept of scaffolding; (3) to design activities and materials for the Biology and Geology, Physics and Chemistry, and Technology classes; and (4) to improve teachers' command of English.
The summer program seeks a science instructor to teach daily lessons in Madrid, Spain, collaborate with staff from Madrid's Dept of Education regarding instruction and with Roosevelt staff in preparing a final report.
Position requires living in Madrid, Spain for at least 16 days.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Bachelors degree in Science, Technology or related field.
Classroom experience teaching middle/high school science.
Understanding of bilingual teaching and learning contexts.
Ability to collaborate and maintain professional relationships with co-workers, students, and the general community.
Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships.
Ability to demonstrate a commitment to service excellence by embodying Roosevelt's core values, mission, and vision in every aspect of the role working with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
A positive and professional demeanor is a must.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Familiarity with Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) programs.
