| Rowan University is a comprehensive state-designated research institution with approximately 16,000 students. Under direction, performs and assists with technical laboratory procedures and analyses in support of specialized research activities of the laboratory. Assists in the set-up, and conducting of experiments as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following:
Assists in packing, unpacking, storing and classification of lab supplies and specimens.
May supervise Laboratory Assistants, Service Workers and other nonprofessional workers and monitors the performance of their work.
Performs standard laboratory procedures such as cloning, expression of genes.
Assists in preparing culture media, reagents, stains, and stock solutions.
Performs purification, analysis, assay of enzymes and proteins involved in Dr. Biswas's research projects.
Assists with the maintenance of the Laboratory facilities, equipment, and instruments. Maintains accurate records of experimentation and research.
Reviews selected literature relevant to research activities.
Prepares reports, documents and databases.
Helps maintain records, files, and databases.
Understands and adheres to Rowan compliance standards as they appear in Rowan's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
BS degree in Chemistry or Molecular Biology. Computer literacy is highly desirable. Adequate hands-on-training or molecular biology laboratory coursework will be required.
