The College of Pharmacy at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the level of Full Professor to serve as Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is one of two departments within the College of Pharmacy. Our faculty members are engaged in competitive research and the education and training of professional and graduate students, fellows, and post-doctoral fellows.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in pharmaceutical sciences, medicinal chemistry or related biomedical sciences, excellent interpersonal skills and evidence of strong leadership and management skills. The candidate will have academic credentials sufficient to meet the rank of Professor, an outstanding established and ongoing research record, which includes a track record of extramural funding and proven abilities to foster pharmaceutical and biomedical research.
The Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is responsible for the Department’s strategic planning, budget, fiscal management, policies and procedures, communications, recruitment, and faculty and staff annual performance and development. Additionally, the Chair is responsible for ensuring faculty contributions to teaching, University/College/Department service, and research.
