The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Texas State University seeks to fill two tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level in Analytical Chemistry and in Physical Chemistry in the fall of 2017.
Analytical Chemistry Position: To be eligible for hire, the candidate must have a Ph.D. in chemistry or a closely related field, postdoctoral or equivalent research experience, a record of peer-reviewed publications, and the ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in analytical chemistry. The successful candidate will be expected to establish a vibrant externally funded research program involving undergraduate and graduate students. Preference will be given to candidates who have teaching and research expertise/interests that complement the department’s needs. Physical Chemistry Position: The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in chemistry or a closely-related field, postdoctoral or equivalent research experience, a record of peer-reviewed publications, the potential to establish an externally-funded research program, and the capability to teach courses in physical chemistry and other courses commensurate with experience within the department. Preference will be given to candidates whose areas of teaching and research expertise complement the department and to candidates who can effectively mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
