The following opportunity exists in our South San Francisco, CA headquarters:
GMP Operations Lead, Small Molecule Process Chemistry, Genentech Research & Early Development
Candidate will serve as processing lead for GMP kilo lab operations and will manage a group of technicians responsible for evaluation and implementation of small molecule API processes leading to clinical supplies. Responsibilities will include: preparing for and executing GMP API campaigns as well as maintaining general GMP compliance of the facility; ordering and maintaining equipment; cleaning of equipment and all GMP areas; ordering of consumables and stocking of spare parts.
Who You Are
Education: B.S or M.S. in organic chemistry or engineering and five or more years’ related experience. Candidate with lesser experience will be considered at the Sr. Supervisor level.
Skills: Excellent communication and organization skills are required. Candidate must be capable of working with limited supervision, making routine decisions regarding day-to-day operations, and applying technical knowledge to trouble shooting of scale up activities. Previous GMP experience and small molecule process development is essential. Knowledge of and experience in process safety evaluation (Calorimetry, DSC, etc.) would be valuable but not essential.
