Analytical Chemist at NJIT
The Department of Chemistry and Environmental Science at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) announces an open-rank search for an Analytical Chemist. We seek a broadly-trained, collaborative analytical chemist having strong spectroscopic or separations skills with a focus on environmental, biological/pharmaceutical, or forensic science analysis.
Minimum qualifications are a Ph.D. in chemistry or closely related field from an accredited institution and, at the Assistant Professor level, at least one year of postdoctoral research experience with demonstrated track record of research productivity. Candidates at advanced ranks are expected to demonstrate a strong track record of sustained external research funding, scholarship, and student mentoring. It is expected the candidate will teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and develop externally-funded, nationally-competitive research. Laboratory space and a competitive startup package can be expected.
The Department of Chemistry and Environmental Science (http://chemistry.njit.edu) at NJIT offers BS, MS, and PhD Chemistry, BS Biochemistry, MS Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and BS, MS, and PhD Environmental Science degrees. The successful candidate will join an established department with five recent junior hires and one recent senior faculty hire. NJIT, conveniently located in the New York metropolitan area with an enrollment of over 11,000 students, is continuing to build internationally recognized programs in chemical and environmental sciences.
