Illinois College invites applications for a one-year visiting position (with the possibility of extension for a second year) to begin in August 2017, in Inorganic/Organometallic Chemistry.
The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry, organometallic chemistry, or a closely related field, and will be committed to undergraduate instruction in a liberal arts setting. Teaching responsibilities will include an advanced inorganic chemistry course for majors, a one-semester introductory chemistry course for science majors, a course in the general education program, and contribution to Organic Chemistry lab instruction. Opportunities and support for research involving undergraduate students are available. Major instrumentation includes: 300MHz NMR, GC-MS, FT-IR, GC, AA, HPLC, fluorescence, and UV-Vis spectrometry.
