EFFECTIVE DATE: Fall Semester, 2017
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*: Ph.D. in the field of Biochemistry or Biophysical Chemistry. Candidates must be able to teach courses in Chemistry and Biochemistry at all levels and be able to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with departmental colleagues and an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*: Postdoctoral research experience is desirable. Preference will be given to biochemists with broad training and technical expertise in this field and its applications and who have prior successful teaching at the post secondary level.
DUTIES*: The successful candidate will develop and teach general education core science classes and courses within the Biochemistry major such as General, Organic, and Biological Chemistry, General Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysical Chemistry and select topics in Biochemistry. They will also need to collaborate with other departments on course work/initiatives that serve the needs of other programs and teaching seminar courses for the general education core. This person should demonstrate a commitment towards engaging undergraduates in research and participate in activities serving the department, college, university and community.
