Organic Chemistry Position
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Mississippi College seeks to fill a full-time, tenure-track position in Organic Chemistry with a starting date of August 2017. The successful candidate will possess a completed Ph.D. prior to employment and exhibit excellence in teaching and research. Preference will be given to candidates with postdoctoral experience and/ or demonstrated experience mentoring undergraduate and Master’s students in a vigorous research program and /or extensive instrumentation experience. Primary teaching responsibilities will include Organic Chemistry and Instrumental Analysis.
The ACS approved department consists of 6 full-time faculty and offers the BS and MS degrees. To fulfill its mission of teaching and research, the department maintains instrumentation including FT-IR, GC-MS, UV-Vis and a JEOL Eclipse 400 MHz FT-NMR.
Founded in 1826, Mississippi College, Clinton, Mississippi, is a private, comprehensive University with 80 undergraduate majors, 15 graduate programs and over 5,100 students.
