The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) seeks an energetic leader to serve as Professor and Chair of the Department of Chemistry. The successful candidate must be qualified for tenure at the rank of Professor and must hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field. He/she is expected to have a strong record of leadership and excellence in chemical research and teaching. Applicants must also show a clear ability to move the department forward with innovative leadership and future faculty hiring. This should include a demonstrated ability to work across disciplines such as Biology, Physics, Mathematics, Atmospheric Science and Materials Science. The new Chair will encourage collaboration and support a broad range of research, educational, and interdisciplinary efforts in the Department. The Department offers B.S. and M.S. degrees in Chemistry and supports interdisciplinary graduate programs in Biotechnology and Materials Science. Plans for a Ph.D. program in Chemistry are in progress.
