**This position is located at Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke, Virginia**
Supports Carilion's and Jefferson College of Health Science's hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching, scholarship, and service consistent with the rank of instructor. Serves as academic advisor for students and participates in scholarly and service activities. Teaching will include a variety of topics within medical laboratory science.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Education: Master's degree with greater than or equal to 18 credit hours graduate work in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science or discipline(s) relevant to Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science. Master's degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years experience in a medical/clinical lab is required.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Evidence of continuing and ongoing professional development is required. Teaching experience a MUST. ASCP-BOC U.S. Generalist certification as a medical laboratory scientist/medical technologist is required.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Good understanding of educational principles and methodologies. Ability to demonstrate psychomotor skills effectively while explaining steps to learning.
