The qualified candidate will develop novel process and formulation technologies for the development of peptide, protein and carbohydrate based vaccines. The individual will become a key contributor towards the early phase development and scale-up of vaccines with the primary purpose of enhancement of immunogenic response using multiple antigen display/Vaccine Like Particles/Nanoparticles etc. Approximately 80% hands-on lab based work.
The key responsibility for this role is to contribute to the process and formulation development of next generation prophylactic vaccines leveraging novel antigen display and delivery systems. Extensive knowledge of peptide synthesis, bioconjugation, antigen-antibody interactions, immunochemistry and protein purification technologies critical for the antigen delivery/display technologies and their application for the vaccine development is required. The successful candidate will be required to integrate process, formulation and analytical concepts in collaboration with vaccine R&D scientists from other complementary disciplines towards the development of next generation microbial and viral vaccines. Experience with a variety of state of the art protein bioanalytical techniques including NMR, Mass Spectrometry etc is a major plus. The individual will create a leadership profile by establishing the best practices for development of commercially viable vaccine technologies.
Ph. D. in Chemistry/Biochemistry with a minimum 4-6 years of postdoctoral experience,
preferably in Biopharmaceuticals/Vaccine Industry, with significant experience in Peptides, Proteins, Multiple Antigen Display, Immunochemistry, Bioconjugation, Vaccine Like Particles and Nanoparticles with focus on Process and Formulation Development. Knowledge in Peptide Synthesis, Bioanalytical Techniques such as NMR/Mass Spectrometry is preferable.
The candidate will design and execute lab experiments/studies, performs complex data analysis and authors technical development reports. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
