The Carnegie Museums seeks part-time security officers for the Andy Warhol Museum and the Carnegie Science Center. Security officers are responsible for protecting the people and assets of the museum from various threats and potential threats--such as theft, fire, and assault--either at an assigned area or on tour for the museum. Responsible for giving information and directions to visitors. Various shifts available, including daylight, evenings, nights, and weekends.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Must have knowledge of CCTV and fire alarm systems. Requires previous security officer experience. Must have the ability to multi-task; have experience in answering phones with a sense of urgency and courtesy. Must be able to climb, maintain balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and to reach with hands and arms. Must have excellent ability to hear, see, smell, and otherwise observe surroundings. Requires ability to lift, carry, and safely operate a fire extinguisher up to a maximum of 50 lbs. Physical test with fire extinguisher is also required.
The following PA Act 153 clearances, or proof of application of clearances, are required beginning employment and as a condition of continued employment: • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check • FBI Fingerprint Criminal Background Check
