The Center for Integrative Planetary Sciences (CIPS) at the University of California, Berkeley, invites applications for a number of Postdoctoral Scholar positions in any area of planetary science, starting in the spring of 2017. The positions are for two years, full time, 100% time with renewal for a third year contingent on performance and funding.
Current senior members of CIPS include Jill Banfield, Kristie Boering, Bruce Buffett, Eugene Chiang, William Dietrich, James Graham, Paul Kalas, Imke de Pater, Raymond Jeanloz, Michael Manga, Philip Marcus, Burkhard Militzer, and Mark Richards. Successful candidates will have overlapping research interests with these faculty members. Current research areas span astronomical observations of the solar system, Martian geodynamics and geomicrobiology, planetary interiors, planetary atmospheres, planet formation theory, protoplanetary disks, and extrasolar planets. Special attention will be paid to candidates with broad interests and expertise who can bridge Berkeley's Earth and Planetary Science Department and Astronomy Department.

A PhD or equivalent degree in astrophysics, geophysics, planetary science, physics or related fields is required by the start date. At the time of application, the basic minimum qualification is the completion of all degree requirements except the dissertation.
