Faculty Positions in Biological Engineering with Health Applications
The Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University (ASU) are seeking applicants for tenure-track/tenured faculty positions in the area of biological engineering with health applications. Areas of interest relevant to human health applications include, but are not limited to: synthetic biology approaches, molecular and cellular engineering, human-microbe interactions, systems biology and computational biology, biopharmaceuticals, and biomaterial development.
Required qualifications include an earned doctorate in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a field related to the search topics. Required qualifications also include demonstrated evidence of research capability and commitment to teaching excellence as appropriate to the candidate’s rank. Desired qualifications include a commitment to a collaborative, transdisciplinary approach to research and teaching.
Faculty members are expected to develop an internationally recognized and externally funded research program, develop and teach graduate and undergraduate courses, advise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students, and undertake service activities within the university, in the professional community and at the national level.
Appointments will be at the assistant, associate or full professor rank commensurate with the candidate’s experience and accomplishments, beginning August 2017. Although the faculty appointment may be in any of the six Fulton Schools of Engineering, the Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering programs in the School for Engineering of Matter, Transport and Energy are currently among the most involved in the interest areas of the search.
