Slippery Rock University, a member of Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education, has a long tradition of providing quality education. Established in 1889 as a teacher education institution, the university has evolved into a multi-purpose institution with approximately 8000 students and 400 faculty members and currently offers more than 60 degree programs at the baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral levels. Located in Western Pennsylvania, Slippery Rock is located within 7 miles of two major interstate highways (I-70 and I-80), offering easy accessibility to Pittsburgh, Erie and Youngstown, Ohio.
