Pepperdine University is a Christian-based, independent university with approximately 7,700 students enrolled in five different colleges. Pepperdine is located in Malibu, California, approximately 30miles northwest of Los Angeles. The chemistry program is in the Natural Science Division, which is part of Seaver College, the undergraduate college with an enrollment of approximately 3,000 students. These students receive a liberal arts education (BA or BS degrees) in one of eight areas. The Natural Science Division within Seaver College offers degrees in Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Nutrition, Physics, and Sports Medicine. Currently, the Natural Science Division has approximately 40 active members of the faculty, six of which are in chemistry. One year visiting professors will be expected to teach 16 units per semester, and will receive health benefits.
